WINFIELD HIGH SCHOOL OBSERVES
NATIONAL CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION MONTH
Students and faculty at Winfield High School will join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month®. CTE Month 2017, with its tagline of "Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!" provides an opportunity to inform others of the innovation and excellence that exists within our local CTE programs. As well as, raise awareness of the crucial role that CTE plays in helping our students to become college and career ready in preparation for high-wage, high-demand career fields.
WHS offers 13 Career Pathways of CTE courses which include: Ag Power, Structural & Technical Systems, Agribusiness, Arts/AV Communications, Business Entrepreneurship & Management, Business Finance, Construction, Early Childhood, Family and Community Services, Health Occupations Exploration, Pre-Engineering, Programming and Software Development, Teaching/Training, and Web and Digital Communication.
“The doors are always open to interested community members that want to see first-hand the CTE courses taught at WHS,” offers Justin Hogan, CTE coordinator. “We want the public to see the variety of skills that students are acquiring at WHS.”
By partnering with the business community, CTE programs are investing in students’ lives with the latest technology and skills that will prepare them to become successful employees as well as future leaders. If you or someone you know would like to get involved as an advisory committee member, please contact us.
