Community members are invited to attend a Community Reception held at the Winfield Chamber of Commerce at 2:30 p.m. directly following the Homecoming Parade. (Parade to start at 1:30 p.m.)</p></div><p></p>

are:</b><br></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><o:p><span style=""><b>&nbsp;<br></b></span></o:p><span style=""><b>Brilla Highfill Scott &nbsp;– WHS Class of 1956</b><br></span><span style="">Brilla
Scott received her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Southwestern
College in 1959. Upon graduating, Scott became the Health Education/Business
Teacher of Winfield High School.&nbsp; She
then carried her carrier to Lawrence as the Business Teacher for Lawrence High
from 68-76. During her time in Lawrence, Scott continued her education,
receiving her Masters in Business Education from Pittsburg State University in
’71 and then later she received her Secondary Administrator Certificate from University
of Kansas in ’76. Scott moved into building leadership in ’76 where she
continued her success as a building Principal until 1985. The remainder of
Scotts professional career was spent as an Associate Executive Director for the
United School Administrators of Kansas in Topeka from 1985-1998. The position
gave Scott the opportunity to train over 1200 administrators and teachers for
the State of Kansas.<br></span><span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><o:p><span style="">&nbsp;<br></span></o:p></span><span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><span style=""><b>Beverley Olson Buller – WHS Class of
1973</b><br></span></span><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><span style="">Beverley
Buller graduated from WHS in 1973. Buller has spent her career as an educator
and author. After graduating in the top ten percent of her class, Buller went
on to obtain her Bachelors from Kansas State University as an English major in
1977. She taught English and Social Studies until 1994. During her time as a
teacher Buller received her Masters degree from Wichita State University in
1986. The remainder of Buller’s teaching career from 1994-2011 was spent as a
Librarian. Olson has been dedicated to education, she has given of herself as
an educator but has also volunteered as a member for several committees. A
committee close to Buller’s heart and connection to our USD 465 students is the
William Allen White Children’s Book Awards. Several of Winfield’s students
participate in the William Allen White Challenge each year, competing in the
Battle of the Books at school, and also traveling to Emporia to meet the
authors. Buller has also been an accomplished author during her professional years.
She has published a numerous books, receiving accolades for her
accomplishments. Buller’s life motto is “anyone can like to read if they find
the right book.”<br></span></span><span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><o:p><span style=""><br></span></o:p></span><span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><span style=""><b>Matthew Wombacher – WHS Class of 1990</b><br></span></span><span style=""><span style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Matthew Wombacher
graduated from WHS in 1990. Wombacher has committed his life to serving our
country. After graduation Wombacher graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement
Training Center and the United Secret Service Training Academy. He holds additional
professional certification from the ASIS International organization as a
Certified Protection Professional. Wombacher has completed the United Kingdom
Police Search Team Course (PST), the Police Search Advisor (POLSA) and Security
Coordinator (SECCO) courses from the United Kingdom’s Police Staff College and
the Police National Search Centre.</span><span style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> Wombacher has <span style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">served for 10 years in the U.S. Military performing a variety of
assignments. Currently, Wombacher serves as the Director of the National
Infrastructure Coordinating Center.&nbsp;</span>He previously served as the
Protective Security Coordination Division’s Branch Chief for the Field
Operations Branch for the Protective Security Advisor (PSA) Program.&nbsp;</span>Other
professional roles have included: Operations and Coordination Chief, Current
Operations Chief, lead PSA for the Headquarters Regional Support Teams, and
five years as the PSA for the National Capitol Region.&nbsp;Womacher
also leads <span style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">the coordination and
operations efforts; 24/7 watch centers that include support field deployed
staff and headquarters support elements. In his duties he helps plan and lead a
wide range of vulnerability reduction activities in all U.S. states and
territories.&nbsp;<br></span></span><span style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><o:p><span style="">&nbsp;<br></span></o:p></span><span style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"><span style="">Future nominations may be made to the High
School Principal, Trent Creeden, to be accepted for the 2019 Wall of Honor induction.
