Early Childhood / Preschool

Cowley County Special Services support our school districts by providing free developmental screenings for preschool children ages 3 -5.  Each district within our Cooperative has an Early Childhood program, and the first step is to sign up and attend a Development screening.

Please call us to set up a screening appointment at 620-221-7021 or click here and we can contact you.

Developmental Screening:

During the screening, our team will explore the following areas with your child:

  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Motor Development
  • Language Development
  • Concepts Development
  • Self-Help Skills
  • Social skills

At the conclusion of the screening, a member of the team will meet with you to review the results of the screening and answer any questions. After the conclusion of the screening and its findings, you can ask questions or contact the school district where you live to see what options are available.
