General Safety

Safety is our first priority! While education and quality are our core business values, we will not compromise safety for their sake. We will maintain safety and health programs conforming to the highest standards and best practices for schools.

Safety is everyone's responsibility! Management accepts responsibility for providing a safe working environment and employees are expected to take responsibility for performing work in accordance with safe standards and practices. Safety and health in our schools must be a part of every operation. Without question, it is every employee's responsibility at all levels.

Thanks for your support!

Informational:
Asbestos Information:
USD 465 has complied with the federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act by completing the following requirements:
  1. Inspecting all facilities for both friable and non-friable asbestos-containing building materials.
  2. Taking samples during the inspections of all materials suspected of containing asbestos, and having the samples analyzed at an EPA-accredited laboratory.
  3. Management plan based upon the inspection report and laboratory findings, outlining the administrations' intent in controlling and abating any asbestos-containing building materials.
Some asbestos-containing building materials remain in some school facilities. However, a maintenance and operations plan, which is part of the Management Plan, describes the location of these materials and specific steps for maintaining the existing materials until their ultimate removal. The inspection results and management plan are available for review in the principal's office.
