The Kansas Coaches Association (KCA) is proud to announce that Coach George Lowe has been named the Kansas Coach of the Year. In addition to this prestigious award, Coach Lowe is being recognized for his remarkable 50-year coaching career.
A graduate of Southwestern College in 1974, Coach Lowe has dedicated his life to mentoring young athletes and fostering a love for the game. Currently, he continues to inspire and lead as the junior high girls basketball coach in Burden, Kansas, while also volunteering his time and expertise with USD 465. His dedication and passion for coaching have left an indelible mark on the community, and his contributions are celebrated by many.
Coach Lowe expressed his gratitude and affection for the community, stating, “Winfield is awesome.” His commitment to the town and its athletes is evident in his continued involvement and support.
The award ceremony honoring Coach Lowe will take place on Tuesday, August 5th, at 9:00 AM at the Salina Fieldhouse, located at 140 N. 5th Street. The event will be held during the KCA session that morning on Court 1. Friends, family, and community members are invited to join in celebrating Coach Lowe's outstanding achievements and enduring impact.
