USD 465 kicked off the new academic year with an inspiring and energetic Convocation event that set the stage for success. Together we are... #WinningInWinfield.

The Convocation began with a welcome from Superintendent Reiser, who warmly welcomed all district staff with excitement. Reiser highlighted the introduction of “Parents as Partners” this year, a program developed after thoughtful collaboration between herself and teachers, following insightful feedback gathered during the "Soup with the Supt" event in the spring semester of the 2024–2025 school year. She emphasized the crucial role parents play within the educational community. By establishing this partnership, we can ensure that families and schools collaborate effectively for the success of each student.

The event featured the introduction of the new President and Vice President of the Winfield National Education Association (WNEA), Dixie Woodburn and Joe Wood. Their presence signifies a strong partnership and commitment to educational excellence in the district.

The Board of Education President, Kinnie Ledford delivered an uplifting speech, celebrating past achievements and accomplishments while outlining ambitious goals for the upcoming school year. His message, centered on the importance of focusing on one's "circle of control”. He also highlighted the district's "Disconnect to Connect" campaign, emphasizing the importance of our new policies and enforcing them. He states, “Consistency wins the race”.

Guest Speaker: Flip Flippen
