Thanks to the enthusiastic collaboration between Afterglow sponsors and the senior class. This creative initiative not only brightens up the school grounds but also fosters a sense of community and school spirit!
The Process: From Application to Approval
The journey to a personalized parking stall begins with an EXCEL meeting, where Afterglow sponsors introduce the painting project to the seniors. Each student is given an application to submit a detailed drawing of their proposed design. This application is a crucial step, as it allows the students to express their creativity while ensuring that the designs align with school guidelines.
Once a design is completed, it is submitted for approval. Alongside their artistic submission, students pay a $50 fee, which goes towards Afterglow. Approved designs are then returned to the Afterglow team, who organize the painting schedule for the seniors.
A Day of Art and Camaraderie
The painting day is a highlight for many, as seniors gather with family and friends to transform the mundane gray of parking stalls into vibrant canvases. The event is not just about painting; it’s a celebration of the students' journey through high school and a chance to leave a personal mark on the campus.
Mrs. Hockenbury, the principal of Winfield High School, reflects on the event's impact: “Seniors had a great time painting parking stalls with family and friends. This activity helped build school spirit and pride on our campus.”
Positive Feedback and School Spirit
The initiative has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, parents, and our community. Many appreciate the opportunity for students to express themselves and contribute to the school’s aesthetic. As each senior class leaves their mark, they contribute to a legacy of creativity and unity at Winfield High School.
