Proposed Chromebook Repair Charges
Mr. Bressler shared with the Board the current Chromebook repair charges and presented the proposed updated fee structure along with anticipated implementation dates. The proposed changes include: Device Replacement increasing from $175 to $250 effective August 1, 2026; Screen repair decreasing from $95 to $50 effective October 30, 2025; Outer Casing decreasing from $45 to $35 effective October 30, 2025; Keyboard increasing from $25 to $30 effective October 30, 2025; Charger decreasing from $25 to $15 effective October 30, 2025; Bezel decreasing from $20 to $15 effective October 30, 2025; and the Replacement Carry Case remaining at $15, effective October 30, 2025. After discussion, the Board approved the proposed fee adjustments.
First Reading Maintenance Job Descriptions
Mr. Bressler presented the first reading of updated maintenance job descriptions, including Maintenance Worker, Maintenance Supervisor, and Groundskeeper/Maintenance positions. The Board reviewed the proposed revisions and held discussion. No action was taken at this time, as this was the first reading.
Building Report
Principal Janci Ramirez and staff from Lowell Elementary provided an overview of programs, instructional practices, and school culture. The presentation was structured using the EXCEL model of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts program. Student greeters welcomed Board members and escorted them to lunch and the meeting space. Third grade teachers Katie Hartley and Becky McCaskill began the presentation by engaging the Board in a “Good Things” activity.
Library Media Specialist Rachel Price shared a video highlighting the schoolwide Capturing Kids Hearts Social Contracts. Instructional Coach Stephanie Hammer presented current FastBridge data and led a discussion on the building’s focus on rigor. Principal Ramirez also shared the 2025 State Assessment data, of which the Lowell staff is extremely proud. Teachers Hartley and McCaskill concluded the presentation with affirmations and raters, followed by Kindergarten teacher Allie Lawrence and two Kindergarten students, who closed with a “Launch” and invited Board members to visit their classroom as guest readers.
