The holidays are just around the corner. As the season approaches, it also puts additional stress on families. While we have a number of donors who are willing to provide clothing and gifts to families in our community, resources are limited this year. If your family could benefit from this generosity, please fill out this form by November 11, 2025. Please note that notifications will be sent via email to notify applicants if criteria was met or not by November 21st. Pick up information will be provided at that time.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sally Pipes, a dedicated 5th-grade teacher at Irving Elementary School, for being awarded the Kansas Horizon Teacher of the Year for Winfield USD 465 School District! The Kansas Horizon Award recognizes exceptional novice teachers who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and leadership within their schools.
Principal Jeff Everett of Irving Elementary shared his enthusiasm, stating, “It was an easy decision to select Mrs. Pipes.” We are truly fortunate to have her, whose dedication and positivity serve as an inspiration to all. Say Hello to the Viking Fee!
We are thrilled to announce that the previous $40 activity fee has been revamped into the NEW $25 Viking Fee. We know how important it is for our students to participate in and enjoy school activities, and we believe this change will make it easier for everyone to join in the fun!
What Does the Viking Fee Include?
- Access to ALL Home Games
- Student IDs for Entry to ALL Activities
- Student Assemblies
- Incentive Programs
+ any other Student Functions!
We believe that school spirit is an essential part of the student experience, and we want every student to have the opportunity to support their peers and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of our home games.

- Wednesday, August 13th: It’s a special day for our 6th and 9th graders! They will have a half day to help them transition smoothly into their new school environments.
- Thursday, August 14th: This marks the official first day of school for all students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Get ready for an exciting year of learning and growth!

As you embark on this new journey, don’t forget to say “Hi” to our friendly officers. They’re looking forward to meeting each of you and helping start your school year with positivity and support. We are pleased to announce that local officers from the Winfield Police Department (WPD) will be present at each school location. They’ll be there on both the 13th and 14th to extend warm greetings and wish you all a wonderful year ahead.
